If I were to choose a colour through which calling to mind the sensations of that day, I would definitely pick cadmium orange. Ever since I met them, I imagined Anna and Valerio aboard that old yellow Volkswagen beetle. With the wind ruffling their hair, I imagined them reaching the church through the unspoiled nature that surrounds Civita di Bagnoregio.

Santa Caterina’s church, where the ceremony took place, has this strong evocative power that comes from both its setting, since it is lost in the middle of the countryside, and its being entirely made of tuff, a raw but elegant stone. At the end of the ceremony, a scorching sun welcomed the couple outside of the church. Finally, the soft colors of the evening came and allowed me to capture its marked contrasts. A wonderful atmosphere.
